Kadapa Solar Park – Solar Tariff Touches a new low of Rs. 3.15/kWh

Solairedirect has once again done it. After shocking the solar sector in 2011 when it won a solar project at the then lowest tariff of Rs. 7.49/kWh, Solairedirect has quoted the lowest tariff(so far) of Rs. 3.15/kWh in the bid for a 250 MW plan in Kadapa Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh.(The list of solar parks can be found here). The previous low was Rs. 3.29/kWh(with a first year tariff of Rs. 2.95/kWh with a 3% annual tariff increase) in the bid for projects in Rewa Solar Park, Madhya Pradesh(details here).
Other bidders include Mahindra Renewables(which was one of the winners of the Rewa solar projects), Canadian Solar, Ostro Energy, Azure Power and Greenko. More details can be found here.
