Punjab Solar : RfP for allocation of 500 MW released

Punjab Energy Development Agency(PEDA) is inviting proposals for allocation of solar PV projects under the Phase III of its Renewable Energy Policy. In the Phase I of the solar projects allocation, RfP was released for 300 MW in March 2013(details here) , and the winners were announced in June 2013(details here). The RfP for allocation of 250 MW under Phase II was released in January 2015(details here).
Some of the highlights of the competitive tariff bidding process for the Phase III (500 MW) are as follows.
1. A pre-bid meeting : 14th July 2015; Last date for submission of the bids : 28th July 2015.
2. Benchmark Tariff  – Without Accelerated Depreciation(AD) : 7.04 Rs. / kWh ; With Acelerated Depreciation(AD) : 6.35 Rs. / kWh. This is based on the CERC tariff for FY 2015-16.
3.  The minimum capacity allotment of the project shall be 50 MW and maximum capacity shall be 150 MW to single Company.
4. The allotment of project capacities beyond minimum 50 MW capacity under this RfP shall be in multiples of 10 MW .
5. Bidders can setup minimum plant capacity 5 MW with maximum 10 locations. i.e 5 MW plant each on ten different locations for minimum allotment capacity of 50 MW.
6. Commissioning Schedule – 12 months from the date of signing the Power Purchase Agreement(PPA).
